Solar Panel Construction 1 – Open Source Ecology

This shows how to solder solar cell ribbon to solar cells. Part 1. For more information, see openfarmtech.org See more info about constructing our solar panels here: openfarmtech.org We are looking for people who are interested in building the world’s first replicable open source self-sufficient decentralized high appropriate tech permaculture village – to transcend survival and evolve to freedom. soldering solar sells just seams like a royal in not emperial pain in the ass…

i’ve seen longer demos.. those blasted things break super easy and if a you have to test it all the time to verify that your not missing something thats not connected….

there has to be an easier way…

Why cant they manufacture then in some way that lets you use a conductive tape or some sort of snapp fit method…

Solar cells for lazy ass bastards :3

I just got 50 pcs of 5″ x 5″ KPE monocrystalline solar cells for $169! Offer is going on until Sunday, July 12th, 2009! Solar-Deals(.)com

I just got my 5″ monocrystalline solar cells at Solar-Deals(.)com for a great price! I’m going to use these for my DIY solar panel.

I built my own solar panels which are powering half my 1500SF Home for under $100 using the plans at:

@336Torana – Yeah, and why do Americans say ” La-zahn-ya” when it’s “spelt” lasagna?? We should say “La-sag-na”!!

  12. powderking540 says:

is that guy in a grain silo?

  13. phylwx says:

@nyurtin Thats a very good question! one would think that comming from the italian Sodderuzzini then EVERYBODY should say “sodder” instead of solder that its just like, a typo, an error in translation from the original in italian. But hey! dont make fun of those who ain’t as cultured in etymological roots as you and me, your children might born like that.

  14. phylwx says:

by the way great video, lets make a new world!

I invented a breakthrough source of energy, which contradicts the law of conservation of energy. I have a PROOF that there are electrodynamic phenomena which contradict the law of energy conservation. It will cost about $1200 to make a 6 kW generator in mass production. Value of the energy produced yearly about $5400. I am looking for $300 000 for a prototype and for $3M for patents.

This group, open source ecology, is working on many open source technologies. I would suggest going to their site openfarmtech(dot)com and if you like what OSE is doing, become a TRUE FAN , which means a donation of $10 a month for 2 years. They are at a 100 true fans right now but their goal is a 1000. The sooner we can get these open source tools and technologies off the ground, the sooner we can ALL start living sustainable, truly free lives… !
